ProVest’s Risk & Compliance function is to protect, support and cultivate the integrity and regulatory strength of the organization through accountability of its business leaders and staff, continuing education and robust reporting and auditing. It ensures alignment with legal, regulatory, and internal and client standards while embedding compliance across operations and governance which facilitates everyday management of risk.

The department maintains oversight of applicable laws, licensing, and procedural requirements nationwide. It partners with leadership and actively engages with regulatory bodies to identify operational risk, implement controls, and support compliant business execution.

Risk & Compliance delivers training and guidance to assure its clients that its team members understand our legal and regulatory obligations and company policies. This includes its firm commitment to education on privacy, information and physical security, notary services, document integrity, and Code of Ethics to uphold our core values.

The department conducts ongoing monitoring and internal audits to assess compliance and drive improvement. It also manages compliance inquiries and responses involving team members, regulatory bodies, vendors, clients, and consumers. These compliance oversight functions allow for the implementation of compliance best practices that are recognized by governmental entities and private industry to facilitate enterprise prevention, detection, and immediate response.

Risk & Compliance oversees contract negotiation, drafting, and management for client and vendor relationships. This includes due diligence reviews, risk management, coordination with Contractor Relations and Operations, and client support related to compliance practices to meet high quality performance and service expectations.

The department supports clients in addressing legal matter and, where appropriate, it assists with documentation review and evidentiary support to reinforce accuracy and defensibility. The department also supports clients with adherence to law changes as they relate to service of process to certify compliance by its staff and vendors.

I would think that this might be better suited to go under HR rather than compliance as it primarily relates to sponsored health plans and not really our compliance functions for our department.
